Health Foundation of South Florida Receives 2026 Beacon Award in Life Sciences & Healthcare
Miami-Dade Beacon Council recognizes the Foundation’s role in building healthier communities and a more prosperous Greater Miami
MIAMI, Fla. (October 26, 2026) — Health Foundation of South Florida has received the 2026 Beacon Award in Life Sciences & Healthcare from the Miami-Dade Beacon Council. The award was presented tonight at the Beacon Awards celebration.
Selected by an independent panel of judges, the Beacon Awards recognize companies, organizations and leaders driving Greater Miami’s economy forward. The Health Foundation was named alongside fellow Life Sciences & Healthcare finalists Galderma and United HomeCare.
“When our communities are healthy, Greater Miami thrives,” said Loreen Chant, President and CEO of Health Foundation of South Florida. “This recognition reflects what our partners and grantees prove every day: health is the foundation of a strong workforce and a prosperous region. We share this honor with them, and with our board and staff.”
The Foundation works to increase access to healthcare, improve Black maternal health outcomes, and build collaborations between health systems and community-based organizations to address the social determinants of health. Through the South Florida Anchor Alliance, it also brings together anchor institutions to foster a more inclusive local economy.
Foundation leadership was joined at the celebration by past Board Chair J. Everett Wilson and current Board Directors Matthew Bruno and Ryan Stumphauzer.
The Foundation thanks the Miami-Dade Beacon Council for this recognition, and congratulates all of this year’s honorees and finalists.
