Health Foundation of South Florida
Black Health Summit 2026
On June 16, 2026, the Health Foundation of South Florida hosted the Black Health Summit, now in its fifth year, bringing together health leaders, community advocates, and public- and private-sector partners to advance Black health equity in South Florida.
This year’s Summit explored the themes of Truth, Trust, and Transformation, drawing more than 500 attendees. Dr. Roger A. Mitchell Jr., President of the National Medical Association, delivered the keynote address, making a compelling case for voting as a social determinant of health and the critical role civic participation plays in shaping the conditions that determine who stays healthy and who does not. Panel sessions examined how social media is reshaping trust in Black health, the future of patient-centered care, community-level strategies for advancing health equity in South Florida, and the role of sports, music, and economic empowerment as public health tools for Black youth.
The conversation continues. Stay tuned for our Black Health Summit Summary Report.
