The Health Foundation continued its collaboration with Miami Homes for All (MHFA) to identify solutions to Miami-Dade’s critical need for affordable housing, a cornerstone of community health. Insights from their 2023 Health and Housing Summit prompted the Foundation to fund Miami Homes for All’s analysis: “Accelerating Affordable Housing:
The Funds Miami-Dade Needs Now”.

The report identified 14,000 shovel-ready affordable housing units in the development pipeline as well as the funding needed to make these affordable homes a reality. 

With guidance from Enterprise Community Partners, and drawing inspiration from successful models in other cities, MHFA and the Foundation aim to bring together a diverse group of funders to pool resources and expertise to accelerate the development and preservation of affordable housing in Miami-Dade County.

Together, the Health Foundation, Miami Homes for All, and key stakeholders are creating pathways for systemic change, to ensure that more Miami residents have access to stable, affordable housing and healthier lives.
