Public Policy

Within the Primary Care Priority Area, the Foundation has worked on various public policy issues such as increasing access to KidCare, Florida’s children health insurance program, and evaluating the impact of Medicaid Reform on access to care. The Foundation also supports the establishment of the patient-centered medical home model and is working to pilot this concept in South Florida which can hopefully inform decision-makers. Additionally, to increase the efficiency and efficacy of the system, the Foundation supports the integration of electronic health records and regional health information networks.
