HEALTH FOUNDATION OF SOUTH FLORIDA HONORS GRANTEES AT RECOGNITION LUNCHEON
Health Foundation of South Florida held a special recognition luncheon in Miami recently to celebrate 41 nonprofit organizations who were awarded grants totaling $3,040,700 million during the Foundation’s December and May grant cycles. The grantees partner with the Foundation to address community health needs, including increasing access to quality, primary health services, oral health care, breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings and creating pathways to physical activity and nutritious foods.
More than 200 people attended the special grantee event, which included a thought provoking pre-luncheon discussion on the Weight of the Nation documentary. The luncheon featured “Rico” of MicheLee Puppets serving as Master of Ceremonies, a cooking demonstration by Youth L.E.A.D., and informative updates on four priority areas as well as on the Healthy Aging Regional Collaborative. .
Many of Health Foundation’s Board members were on hand to salute the grantees, including: Richard Adams, Loreen Chant, James Eckhart, Arthur Finkle, Philip Grossman, M.D., Roderick King, M.D., Michele Rice and Stanley Worton, M.D.
